Sharpsoft is Luc Baumann

My name is Luc Baumann and I am a software developer in Düdingen. Sharpsoft is my sole proprietorship. I build and run websites for small businesses: joinery workshops, restaurants, hair salons, shops. On top of that come custom solutions, for example a spare parts catalogue with a shopping cart that is connected to an existing system.

To be honest: Sharpsoft is a side business

My main job is as an employed software developer. I run Sharpsoft alongside it. I would rather tell you that myself before you read it somewhere else.

For you, this has advantages:

  • Low prices. I have no office, no salespeople and no employees who need to be paid. You see that in the price.
  • No sales pressure. I do not make my living from Sharpsoft. I have no reason to talk you into anything you do not need.
  • Clear focus. I do a few things, and I do them properly: websites for small businesses and, where needed, custom solutions.

How your website is made: AI, tests and my oversight

Your website is built and changed by AI agents. I use Claude by Anthropic for this. I define how the agents work and what they are allowed to do, and I oversee the process.

Automated tests matter a lot to me. I write end-to-end tests: they use a website the way a visitor does, click through pages, forms and orders and check that everything works. sharpsoft.ch only goes live when all of these tests pass. For abw.ch, they check the online shop, orders and invoices.

AI, tests and my oversight

Where your data is stored

  • Your website runs in one of two places, depending on its type: static websites with normal traffic are delivered by Google Firebase Hosting via Google's global network (Google LLC or Google Cloud EMEA Limited, including in the USA). Websites with a backend or a lot of traffic run on a server that I operate myself, in Switzerland or in the EU.
  • Your code is stored in a dedicated GitHub repository, for your business only. GitHub is a US service.
  • Your changes in the portal are processed by Anthropic's AI agents (Claude). To do this, Anthropic processes your messages, files and your website's code, including in the USA. Anthropic does not use your data to train its AI, and usually deletes it after 30 days. Please do not enter any confidential data in the portal or via the interface, such as passwords, trade secrets or your customers' data. If you need a data processing agreement with the AI provider, choose the option “AI with data processing agreement” in the quote: your data then only passes through an Anthropic business account with a data processing agreement (surcharge, see prices).
  • Payments are made by QR-bill to my bank account. If other payment methods are added later, such as card, only the payment provider processes your card details, never me.

What I do not do

  • No email mailboxes. I recommend Google Workspace and set up the necessary records for your domain.
  • No AI agents or chatbots on your website. I use AI to build and change your website. I do not build any AI agents or chatbots into your website or your solution.
  • No guaranteed response times and no 24-hour availability from me personally. I run the hosting with care, but without guaranteed availability.

I am happy to answer questions about what I offer. Conversations before a contract is signed are free for up to 30 minutes. Personal advice after the contract is signed costs CHF 40 per quarter hour or part thereof (CHF 160 per hour). It only takes place if you agree, and you see the price beforehand.
